For this Sunday the 10th of September, we cordially did invite you to a bidirectional online brunch with open discussion about online-voting-systems. Within the context of this year's Viennese NetArt & -Culture Festival PARAFLOWS we want to open a window for cultural exchange between Vienna and Tallinn.
As Estonia is already running a digital voting-system in a real case scenario of national elections. We see a great opportunity to exchange the experience and expertise gathered: How did you get around certain problems in order to exchange thought, opinions, meaning and solutions on this very important topic about the democratic election systems of the future.

We hereby invite people form very different disciplines to contribute in this world-wide discussion, which will be a major topic in the future development of especially the European and US-American societies. Experts of technical development, social-science, politics, business and the art are questioned to share the knowledge about the advantages and doubts of such systems: What will the social and political impact of this election-speedup be, if every member of a state or an area will be able to take part in any important decision within milliseconds with the help of his mobile device? Would we even need a parliament any more? Could we use flexible user-profiles of citizens in order to ask a "voting bot" (Marko Kosnik) what the decision of the commonalty would be?

Over the last two years, the Vienese netart & -culture producer scene has experimented with different voting systems, and tested and developed models and modes, in order to find a fair and equitable way to distribute the public art & culture fund of 500.000 euros amongst a community of 200 groups and individuals. During these experiments, discussions, thoughts and thinking, we had to surmount challenges and problems towards the realization of digital voting systems. Both technical and social challenges: The technical realisability proved daunting, and jealousy and fights arose around the money as different solutions favoured different results. All these results informed us on the potential long term impacts on society and democracy.

Thanks to Simon Haefele, Michael Lampert, Ruth Haselmair, Ramiro Consiento, Edith Schild, the Blumberg Gallery (where the other end of the desk will be) and the organizers of the Paraflows Netart/Culture Festival, especially Angela Dorrer & the Estonian Academy of Arts, we are able to invite you to a wonderful, relaxed first sonance.artistic.network branch release006. The event will be documented and the documents are going to play during the whole PARAFLOWS exhibition in the Blumberg Gallery & on our web-page.
