SoundLAB VI - soundPOOL - sound compositions - a challenge for imagination - SoundLAB is looking for its 6th edition to be launched in March 2009, sound compositions which represent a real challenge for human imagination.

Negli elaborati si richiede un’analisi dei profili professionali emergenti, delle metodologie e delle tecnologie per l'apprendimento, della valutazione dei processi formativi nonché l'impatto dell'e-Learning sui processi organizzativi e la sua relazione con il knowledge management.

Torna “Opera Prima”, il concorso per cortometraggi, video e animazioni, sostenuto dall’Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Urbania e dalla Istituzione Beni e Attività Culturali, Turismo. Il concorso, ormai giunto alla XI edizione, è nato grazie all’iniziativa ed alla vivacità dei giovani urbaniesi ed è organizzato da Mediateca e Biblioteca Comunali di Urbania. La partecipazione è gratuita ed è aperta a tutti.

This special issue will not include contributions that deal solely with describing a narrow and specific piece of art or research without reference to a conceptual framework or a critical analysis; rather we encourage contributions that take a broad and integrative view of relevant topics, encompassing both theoretical and empirical perspectives of digitally-generated creative spaces.

Early enthusiasm with the use of projection-based display structures and the development of authoring solutions for application-building has brought a level of maturity, characterized by the emergence of new technical and conceptual forms. It is this particular moment in the evolution of immersive VR/MR/AR art practice that this special issue seeks to capture.

The internet and streaming technologies are radically changing the developments of audio visual art. The Streaming Festival is exploring the use and possibilities of these developments. By combining high quality art and new technologies the festival wants to give an impulse to the understanding of audio visual art.

For this special issue we hope to bring together research from a variety of disciplines and perspectives that ambitiously aims to come to grips with the conditions and opportunities of consumer co-creative practices. Co-creative media production practice is perhaps a disruptive agent of change that sits uncomfortably with our current understandings and theories of work and labor.

We invite researchers worldwide who are working in the topic area of climate change to submit manuscripts that analyze the meanings of the issue in the discourses of various social actors and/or the media, or that discuss the connections between discursive and social representations of climate change.

Il festival prevede una sezione concorsuale riservata a film o video che abbiano tematiche sociali riconducibili all’ambiente, l’ecologia, il paesaggio, la tutela del territorio, lo sfruttamento delle risorse naturali, il rapporto con la città, la differenza economica e culturale fra paesi ricchi e quelli poveri, le alternative possibili all’attuale modello di sviluppo economico, l’umanità ed i suoi valori di riferimento.

VideoChannel - video project environments invites artists and directors for submitting videos/films, i.e. narratives and documentations (max 15 min.) experimenting with new concepts of transforming artistic contents into moving images, new forms of representing und new technologies.

Artech 2008 is the fourth international workshop held in Portugal and Galicia on the topic of Digital Arts. It aims to promote contacts between Iberian and International contributors concerned with the conception, production and dissemination of Digital and Electronic Art.

We are initiating a focused look at the migration between reality, media, technologies, art, spaces, disciplines, politics, and networks. Migration interests us in cultural and technological aspects as well as in aspects of the movement of different objects and subjects.

During the intensive 4-day workshop you will investigate different motion capture techniques and the possibilities of using robots for performances and for audiovisual projects. Experienced tutors will explain the different motion capture systems, the process of setting sensors, recording sessions and the computer data post-processing.

This year's CHArt conference takes seeing as its theme and the associated questions of vision, perception, visibility and invisibility, blindness and insight - all in the context of our contemporary digital culture in which our eyes are assaulted by ever greater amounts of visual stimulus, while we are also increasingly being surveyed, on a continual basis.

LABoral Centro de Arte y Creacion Industrial is calling for proposals from artists to develop a research and production project at LABoral for two months during 2008. LABoral Centro de Arte y Creacion Industrial is an interdisciplinary art centre created in Gijon, in the north of Spain in 2007. Its main objective is to become a research, educational, exhibition and production centre in the area of art, science and technology.

We are looking for existing and potentially adaptable projects that interrogate screen media as a medium| content and tackle the festival’s key themes of issues of building community and sustainability in relation to water. These two complex themes aim to provoke discussion and spark questions such as: What is community in times of the high-speed, global flows of the new media scape? How can we explore the diversity of water, an element, essential to the existence of life on earth?

Historically it seems that theater has always embraced topics regarding the breaking or rethinking of ethical values in its society. What will a theater-production face when inviting a global society with diverse approaches towards art, culture, and societal habits, to participate in it?
