Appel à candidature pour une résidence d’artiste avant le 11 janvier 2008 à 17 heures La Ville de Creil, en partenariat avec la Direction régionale des affaires culturelles, le Conseil général de l’Oise et le Conseil régional de Picardie souhaite poursuivre le projet des Ateliers ouverts, lancé par deux premières résidences en 2007. La démarche consiste pour l’artiste en résidence à lier sa création à l'environnement creillois et à l'atelier qu'il dirige auprès des publics locaux, prioritairement des jeunes de 16 à 25 ans (un ou deux groupes de 12 personnes au maximum) issus de cursus diversifiés. L’expérience se conclut par l’organisation d’une exposition ou/et d’une publication. Une prochaine session, avec un minimum d’interventions de 60 heures auprès des stagiaires, se déroulera d’avril à juillet 2008 avec une période de stage comprise pendant les vacances scolaires de printemps. Des temps courts de présentation de la proposition artistique et de finalisation des travaux sont également à prévoir ainsi que des séances sur certains mercredis et samedis. L'artiste disposera d'un logement, d'un atelier personnel et d'une mise à disposition par l'Espace Henri Matisse de ses salles d'ateliers pour son travail avec les participants. L’artiste sera choisi, sur la base d’un marché à procédure adaptée, sur projet par un jury pluriel et spécialisé. European Media Artists in Residence Exchange 2008* tart of a new Media Art Network in England, Germany, Bulgaria and the Netherlands With support of the European Union - Culture 2007-2013 programme the newly established *E*uropean *M*edia *A*rt *N*etwork will host 16 *E*uropean *M*edia *A*rtists in *R*esidence *E*xchanges (EMARE) within 2008 and 2009 and organise a final exhibition in 2009 in Halle (Saale) additional to individual presentations. Europe based Media Artists in the fields of digital media including internet and computer based art, filmmakers, sound and video artists are invited to apply for a two months artist residency at: * IMPAKT, Rotterdam, Netherlands * Interspace, Sofia, Bulgaria * VIVID, Birmingham England * Werkleitz Center for Media Arts in Halle, Germany. EMARE includes a grant of 2.000 Euro, free accomodation, up to 250 Euro travel expenses, access to the technical facilities and media labs and a professional presentation. Torna “Opera Prima”, il concorso per cortometraggi, video e animazioni, sostenuto dall’Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Urbania e dalla Istituzione Beni e Attività Culturali, Turismo. Il concorso, ormai giunto alla XI edizione, è nato grazie all’iniziativa ed alla vivacità dei giovani urbaniesi ed è organizzato da Mediateca e Biblioteca Comunali di Urbania. This special issue will not include contributions that deal solely with describing a narrow and specific piece of art or research without reference to a conceptual framework or a critical analysis; rather we encourage contributions that take a broad and integrative view of relevant topics, encompassing both theoretical and empirical perspectives of digitally-generated creative spaces.

Early enthusiasm with the use of projection-based display structures and the development of authoring solutions for application-building has brought a level of maturity, characterized by the emergence of new technical and conceptual forms. It is this particular moment in the evolution of immersive VR/MR/AR art practice that this special issue seeks to capture.

The internet and streaming technologies are radically changing the developments of audio visual art. The Streaming Festival is exploring the use and possibilities of these developments. By combining high quality art and new technologies the festival wants to give an impulse to the understanding of audio visual art.

For this special issue we hope to bring together research from a variety of disciplines and perspectives that ambitiously aims to come to grips with the conditions and opportunities of consumer co-creative practices. Co-creative media production practice is perhaps a disruptive agent of change that sits uncomfortably with our current understandings and theories of work and labor.

We invite researchers worldwide who are working in the topic area of climate change to submit manuscripts that analyze the meanings of the issue in the discourses of various social actors and/or the media, or that discuss the connections between discursive and social representations of climate change.

VideoChannel - video project environments invites artists and directors for submitting videos/films, i.e. narratives and documentations (max 15 min.) experimenting with new concepts of transforming artistic contents into moving images, new forms of representing und new technologies.

Artech 2008 is the fourth international workshop held in Portugal and Galicia on the topic of Digital Arts. It aims to promote contacts between Iberian and International contributors concerned with the conception, production and dissemination of Digital and Electronic Art.

We are initiating a focused look at the migration between reality, media, technologies, art, spaces, disciplines, politics, and networks. Migration interests us in cultural and technological aspects as well as in aspects of the movement of different objects and subjects.

During the intensive 4-day workshop you will investigate different motion capture techniques and the possibilities of using robots for performances and for audiovisual projects. Experienced tutors will explain the different motion capture systems, the process of setting sensors, recording sessions and the computer data post-processing.
